CARRY OUT FACIAL CLEANSING PROCEDURE: JPK WIM-Work Sheet



This Worksheet is the sample of Written Instructional Materials (WIM)  of the JPK NOSS N-011-1 Jurukecantikan 

TITLE : CARRY OUT FACIAL CLEANSING PROCEDURE
AIM :-
TRAINEE WILL BE ABLE TO :-
1.       CARRY OUT FACIAL CLEANSING PROCEDURE AND TECHNIQUE TO PREPARE CLIENT FOR FACIAL CLEANSING
2.       CARRY OUT FACIAL CLEANSING PROCEDURE AND TECHNIQUE OF CLEANSING CLIENT’S FACE
3.       STORE CLEANSING PRODUCTS, TOOLS AND MATERIALS

GENERAL INSTRUCTION :
Facial cleansing may be considered as a simple job, however, the important point is that if you over cleanse your skin with harsh strokes, you will cause damage to the skin. Therefore, the strokes must be firm but gentle. Care must be taken not to stretch the skin. Use the suitable products and follow the procedures and techniques as demonstrated.

-          Eye makeup remover
d.      Cotton wool
e.      Tissue paper
f.        Towels
g.       Bowls
h.      Cotton buds
i.         Facial gown
j.        Disposable towel tissue
k.       Jewelry container
l.         Hand soap
m.    Facial couch & stool
n.      Hair band
o.      Cleansing technique diagram
p.      Mannequin
q.      Waste paper bin


01.Carry out procedure and technique to prepare client for facial cleansing:

a.       Usher client to a changing area. (eg. Changing room, open area, cubicle/cabin etc)

b.      Protect client’s modesty during changing
c.       Get client to change to facial gown. (advise gown front or back and how to go in)
d.      Help to remove client’s jewelry and store in a container in front of the client
e.      Usher client to the couch (explain the safety of client climbing onto the couch – topple over)
f.        Remove the 2 big towels before the client climb onto the facial couch
(ALL THESE DEMONSTRATED ONLY!)

02.Carry out procedure and technique of cleansing client’s face

a.       Use a mannequin and demonstrate the procedure and technique (use real products on the mannequin):-

            i.            Take 2 pieces of cotton wet with eye makeup remover and remove eye makeup, eyebrow makeup
(if eye makeup is thick, place wet cotton over it counting up to ten, only then remove the makeup)
          ii.            Use another piece of cotton wet with eye makeup remover and remove mascara
(when the mascara is thick, place the wet cotton over it for 10 counts and wipe)
         iii.            Use cotton bud wet with makeup remover and wipe upper and lower eyelid to remove eyeliner
(use cotton bud to make sure the liner is being removed)
        iv.            Take another piece of cotton wet with makeup remover and remove lipstick (when lipstick is thick, place wet cotton over it for 10 counts and wipe)
          v.            Pour on to your palm (adhere to hygiene of the palm and the safety of the products not to split.  Palm should be away from client’s face when pouring product)
        vi.            Apply cleanser over client’s face with care (adhere safety when cleanser is over client’s face; make sure cleanser doesn’t flow into the nostril, eyes, ears or neck)
       vii.            Follow the cleansing techniques

b.       Follow the techniques for removing the cleanser:-
            i.            Squeeze sponge dry to remove cleanser from client’s face (the first sponging needs to be dry; purpose is to remove the cleanser)
          ii.            Soak sponge into bowl of warm water and squeeze partial dry to rinse client’s face (the sponge here is squeeze partial dry; purpose for rinsing the face)
         iii.            Again soak sponge into bowl of warm water and squeeze sponge dry to remove the rinse (the purpose of this is to remove the water on the skin)
        iv.            Soak sponge again and squeeze partial dry to rinse client’s face again (this is to ensure the second rinse to client’s face)
          v.            Soak sponge again and squeeze sponge till dry to remove the rinse (this is to ensure the thorough cleansing and to remove the excess water on the skin)
b.      Check to ensure client’s skin is cleansed thoroughly (esp. hair line, nose area, under the chin, ear, neck)
(check the thorough cleansed skin)
***After practicing on the mannequin, perform on a model



03.Store facial cleansing products, tools and materials

a.       Storing away the products after use.  (to give more space to the trolley)

b.      Every product needs to be cleansed when storing.  (to keep product clean)
c.       Using a disposable tissue to clean and wipe the makeup remover and cleanser container(for hygienic reason that the stains on the container will invite bacteria)
d.      Put the product away.  (on the 2nd or 3rd tier of the trolley) –store the products so that it will not take up unnecessary space or blocking your movements
e.      Store away the products to their respective place
