FACIAL CARE teaches the student to be competent in performing facial care treatment. At the end of the lesson, students will be able to prepare facial work are, cleanse client’s skin, analyze skin, deep cleansing,
extract comedones and pustules, massage face till chest, apply mask, tone and moisturize client’s face.
DEEP CLEANSING PROCEDURE
a. The various method of deep cleansing is steaming, facial brush (frimator), exfoliation products, and desincrustation (galvanic)
b. Vapor mist from vaporizer softens dead surface cells
c. Vaporizing is done on the skin after cleansing and skin analyzing
d. Distilled or filtered water should be used in the vaporizer
e. Tap water used in the vaporizer will cause malfunction of the vaporizer
f. For normal skin, the vaporizer should be 10 inches – 12 inches away from the client’s face
g. Exfoliation should not be done on sensitive skin
h. The purpose of a facial scrub is to remove surface dead cells
i. Before deep cleansing is performed, cleansing should be done first
j. Deep cleansing should be able to leave skin feeling clean and refreshed, but tightened and taut
k. After effect of deep cleansing with exfoliating products may include a mild prickling sensation
l. A smooth glowing appearance is achieved after a deep cleansing
m. AHA exfoliating products is not advisable to use on hypersensitive skin because the skin is too thin to be exfoliated
n. A counter treat for AHA adverse skin reaction is cold water
o. The contra-indications for vaporizing are broken capillaries, open wounds, sunburnt skin, cuts, swelling, etc
p. To start vaporzone, “on” vaporizer first and wait till vapor starts, then “on” the ozone
q. To “off” a vaporzone, “off” ozone first, only then vaporizer
r. Over exposure to ozone will cause damage to client’s lungs which will trigger the asthma sickness
