FACIAL CARE teaches the student to be competent in performing facial care treatment. At the end of the lesson, students will be able to prepare facial work are, cleanse client’s skin, analyze skin, deep cleansing,
extract comedones and pustules, massage face till chest, apply mask, tone and moisturize client’s face.
CLEANSE CLIENT’S FACE :
a. A cleansing gel is water based, but a cleansing cream is oil based
b. A proper removal for removing eye and lip make-up is by using eye make-up remover
c. Client’s hair should be draped before the cleansing starts
d. Place a towel across client’s chest after client rest on the couch
e. Client’s jewelleries should be kept with her at all times and will be best in a container
f. It is best to have a place in the treatment room for client to keep her personal belongings
g. Hands must be sterilized before touching client's face
h. Other than using facial sponges, wet cotton pads can be used
i. Before starting the cleansing procedure, lip color and eye shadows should be removed first
j. Excess water from facial sponge should be squeezed so that the water will not drip onto the client
k. When cleansing the eye area, one has to be very gentle as the eye area is very thin
l. Cotton pads can be converted to form a pair of cleansing mitts to perform cleansing techniques. This method is especially hygienic for acne skin
m. During the treatment, sponges are kept in a small bowl of lukewarm water beside the therapist for convenience
n. The best time to change the facial bowl of water is when client’s face under the vaporizer
o. The basin of water for cleansing should be placed within reach of the beautician
p. Cleansing of the lip start from the outside corner of mouth to the centre of the lips
q. Suitable cleanser is selected according to client’s present skin condition
r. Client’s skin should be thoroughly cleansed so that skin impurities are removed
s. Facial sponges are not advisable to be shared among clients for facial
