04.01 – PREPARE FACIAL WORK AREA


FACIAL CARE teaches the student to be competent in performing facial care treatment. At the end of the lesson, students will be able to prepare facial work are, cleanse client’s skin, analyze skin, deep cleansing, extract comedones and pustules, massage face till chest, apply mask, tone and moisturize client’s face.



PREPARE FACIAL WORK AREA :
a.       A preparation of work area is done before the treatment begins
b.      All prepared items (cotton, compresses, etc) should be stored in a covered container
c.       All implements and supplies should be ready before the arrival of the client
d.      The purpose of the head drape is to cover and protect client’s hair
e.      Blanket / towel placed across client’s chest should also cover client’s feet
f.        Eye pads prepared for client should be large enough to cover the eyes
g.       “Butterfly” eye compresses will not fall from the eyes easily
h.      Hands must be sanitized before touching client’s face
i.         Cotton eye pads can be “round”, “square” or “butterfly” shape
j.        “Butterfly” eye pads are made by twisting soaked cotton in the center with a one-half turn
k.       Fingers should not be used to help tuck in hair strand into the head drape
l.         Aesthetician should check the appointment book at the beginning of the day
m.    A well-organized salon should be neat and all necessary items available
n.      All creams and masks should be removed from the container with a spatula
o.      Facial treatment area should be quiet with a peaceful atmosphere
p.      It is best that client’s handbag be kept with her at all times
q.      It is important to do all preparations in a confident professional manner
